Art + Money - Appreciation

Now a days "Art" is on sale just like pakoda in almost every corner of the city. Kolkata has always been a cultural hub of the country. You get to see beautiful arts here in Kolkata, from painting to architecture....from food to fashion and what not. The city has created many quality artists and feeded them with right amount of appreciation and money. Yes, APPRECIATION and MONEY both are important for artist of any corner of the world.

But what if only MONEY take over the appreciation. I believe from there "Art" starts losing its quality. When Art is created for money only, it becomes a compromised product. As money comes with it own conditions. Criticism an appreciation is an integral part of any art form, it not only shapes but also drives it in the right direction.

Well having said all these i firmly believe that now money is very important for every art form and artist. If you can not feed your basic needs how would you nurture your art. 

So where exactly we are heading towards? 
Is it the change we are aiming for or this is how the change should be like ?

Kolkata Arts Lane Festival

Its the celebration time all over the world as the new year has just began. No matter how much i travel through out the year my world evolves around this city of joy. Yes this is the city of joy Kolkata. 

In winter you get to see lots of festivals all around the city. Art is very everywhere here in Kolkata, be it food, fashion, dance, music and what not. Kolkata Arts Lane Festival is one of them. It brings together different  art forms. 

I love attending these events. Whenever i get time from my rehearsal and performance schedule i like to treat my soul with such creative events which brings brilliant ideas together. Loved some of the art works and trying to share them with you all, but trust me art can not be captured and shared this way as it reaches everyone in a unique pattern.

Looking back

It has been a wonderful year. As i look back i see a lot of good and bad moments flashing in front of my eyes. GOOD made me confident, motivated, focused, happy and so on, but BAD made me even better, conscious, hard working, strong. 

Well i have learned, lost, tough decisions, happy moments, tired, affection, travel, challenges, love, friends,frustration, achievements and so on....and still strong and courageous.

Looking forward to 2019.
